金閣寺 – Kinkaku-ji

A snapshot realized in October 2019, during my trip to Japan.

Buddhist temple and tourist spot drawing huge influx of visitors, perhaps one of the most popular destinations in Japan.
The name of the temple is a nod to the gold leaf covering the pavilion: in fact, gold bears a strong symbolic value of purification from any type of pollution or negative thought and is also functional in creating a unique reflection on the pond, thanks to the sunlight.
